Thank you to Rini Zhang and her team for turning a horrifying incident around (involving other unpleasant guests and some staff/security shortcomings) and making sure my family and I have a pleasant remainder of the stay at Orchard Grand Court afterwards. She has left us feeling assured that Management will make improvements and provide better training to upgrade the staff and security personnel involved.
Great stay for families with plenty of room to move about

I booked the 2 bedroom suite for a family holiday in January 2019. Orchard Grand Court staff were efficient with the check in process and the rooms were spacious and well equiped for a family of four. Two bathrooms were appreciated, especially coming from Hong Kong where the showers do not cater for people that are 6 foot and over! Easy access to the Sommerset MRT made it easy to get around, and the FairPrice supermarket and Watsons pharmacy (located at the bottom of the hotel) were fantastic for supplies. Breakfast was great, plenty of variety, catering to both Western and Asian tastes, and there were plenty of options for vegetarians. The Orange Lantern (just a few hundred metres down Killiney Road) was our favourite restaurant, but there are also a huge number of restaurants nearby (very reasonably priced) if you are not keen on Vietnamese food. Check out was smooth (even at 3am in the morning!) and the pool was a welcome retreat from the humidity. We will be back!

We stayed here as a couple for 2 weeks. We choose this Hotel because of the convenient location and affordability. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment. The hotel is certainly in a convenient location, a few hundred meters from Orchard Road, Somerset MRT and with lot's of cafe's and restaurants nearby.
The Apartment is adequate and quite sparsely decorated. The Aircon is adequate however imbalanced with the main living area often being very cold whilst the bedroom remained cool without being cold. The bedroom has a queen sized bed which is quite comfortable. The living area is an adequate size with a small table with 2 chairs and a 2 seater lounge. There is a washer/dryer provided and microwave which add to the convenience. We found the cleaning of the apartment to be a bit "hit and miss" and could certainly do with some improvement. The bathroom is quite small. Plenty of hot water however the towels are seriously paper thin.
There is a gym. Some benches and basic weights machine is provided, some free weights, a bicycle and a running machine, that must have come out of the Ark. A decent size floor area. An okay pool and pool area.
We had an issue in that the only outdoor area you can sit by is at the pool deck. They only allowed access until 7pm. We got this extended to 9pm after approaching management This was one of our key issues with the hotel in that there is really no outdoor area where you can sit outside at night. Certainly no where after 9pm.
Breakfast is at an adjoining restuarant. It is adequate.

Quick summary: Excellent. I would stay again. Minor problems didn't affect the overall stay. For peace of mind make sure you check the items listed in the apartment within 24 hours. They are up-front about the $300 SGD Pre-Auth or cash deposit even when booked through an agent. This initially concerned me as it leaves you open to trusting the hotel. Fortunately I didn't break anything in the room. I do not know how stringently they enforce the policy but I have received no extra charges. Queen sized apartment? Must surely be a king or super king size bed! Bed was comfortable and spacious. Plenty of space for 2 suitcases and plenty of room to move around. Aircon, small sofa, breakfast bar, fridge, microwave, washing machine + hang dryer, basic cooking utensils. The condition of the apartment was clean and well equipped plus overall spacious and brightly lit if needed. Generous for Singapore - but there is a minimum stay of 7 nights. Minor gripes are limited hangers in the wardrobe and sliding doors are annoying when there is plenty of space for hinged doors. Spacious bathroom with generous sized shower with both rainfall head and hand held unit. Superb shower had plenty of hot water and pressure. Towels can be stored on shelving which isn't in the actual shower. Yay! Massive thumbs up for that!!! It also had several hooks for your own travel items. Minor problem was steam from shower condensed on a light fitting and formed a small puddle in front of toilet. Fridge and aircon might disturb very light sleepers occasionally during the first couple of nights as you get used to them but they really do become quiet and unobtrusive. Neither were as noisy as the free weekday newspaper - Stop shoving it under the door! That disturbed me from my sleep a few mornings. I forgot to mention it to the reception but please lay daily papers in front of the door - don't faff about making a noise trying to shove it under the door!!! The location is about a 8 minute suitcase drag from the Somerset MRT. On arrival I recommend going down the right hand side of Killerney road past the Singtel building towards the hotel as there is less 'street furniture' to avoid. Once settled at the hotel, Doby Ghaut MRT station is about 15min walk and can be useful starting trips from here if needing to travel on other MRT lines. With Orchard road nearby there are hundreds of food places to eat at every day of the week. Take aways/restuarants on the same street plus an artisan bakers across the road for more European influenced breakfast/lunches. Buffet Breakfast: Served from about 6-10:30am. Most of the selection will satisfy a wide range of typical Western European choices with the addition of good fresh fruit. Some Chinese/Indian dishes were also present such as porridge, steamed dumplings and curry sauce with raita. Sausages were chicken not pork but worked well with the baked beans. Operating manuals for all in room facilities except the air-con are present within the apartment. Not really sure exactly how it worked but generally got it to it to do what I wanted. I'm sure if you asked they would explain. Check the list of items in the room and report missing or broken items within 24 hours or arrival. There were no missing or broken items for me but I did have to query about bath robes - which are only supplied on request. The need to check a list of items annoyed me and it was not mentioned during check-in at the hotel. A guest should not be expected to do this checking of items. The listed charges for items are of course a little excessive but not insanely absurd. Secure luggage storage and shower room are available for late departures. They have a concierge who seems to be on duty 24 hours. The storage is within a locked room directly in front of reception. The late leave shower rooms are ... not entirely private. Glass doors to a couple of shower cubicles so don't be shy to get naked in front of others - if there are any others there at all!! I was the only one in the room when I used it. Glass doors might be considered good as you probably wont have a locker (I didn't bother!) and can see your dry clothes. Handy tip. Take the shower gel bottle from your room for the late shower. Overall a very good hotel which I'd be happy to stay at again. Especially if leaving late in the day.
