We staying here for two nights in late January 2019. We couldn’t believe our eyes when we walked in - the lobby area is just gorgeous. We arrived from Budapest by train and the hotel is literally a stone’s throw from a train station. The friendly guy at reception was lovely and offered to store our luggage for us (we were early) before we had even asked, and invited us to relax in the lobby where there was tea, coffee and fruit-infused water. The room, or apartment, was spacious and had a kitchenette, and again was very well furnished and comfortable. The Opera House is across the road, and Schoenberg Palace a sort train trip away, so the location is excellent. We really can’t recommend it highly enough, and if we are lucky enough to return to Vienna in the future, this will be our immediate choice of hotel.

We were here for 6 nights over the Christmas period. The location was perfect - next to the Opera and within walking distance to everything in the old town. The metro station is a few meters away for longer excursions (and very easy to use). Service was great - helpful and thoughtful - nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are very large with a small kitchen which is a real plus for an extended stay. Only two negatives - a small ancient lift which was a nuisance at busy times - and our room furnishings were tired - spotlessly clean - but a bit dated and worn. However considering the price in an otherwise expensive city this is great value and we would stay again.

A lovely hotel ideally placed for St Stephensplatz the museum sector and the Christmas Markets which are great. The hotel itself is very comfortable and spotlessly clean weer ith friendly staff. The only complaint is that the lifts are very small, but that is a minor inconvenience. Overall a very nice hotel.

We, 2 persons, stayed at the hotel from 23/11 until the 27, 4 nights. The location is great, for us coming for the exhibitions it was excellent, we did our visits to museums only be feet. The room was big with comfort bathroom and toilet, missing shower caps. The room has a small kitchen. The hotel is very clean, the staff was friendly and helping in locating restaurants. Breakfast is nice but expensive - 20 Eu. We had a nice breakfast in a nearby popular coffee paying only 15 Eu. And the elevator in our side of the hotel is very very small, too small. Inspite some failures we will come back to this hotel.

1. location : less than 10 metres to the Elizabethstrasse exit of the main Karlsplatz station (direct lines to the central Hbf station, Schonbrunn palace, St Stephen's cathedral, etc). Across the road from the Vienna State Opera and Cafe Oper (where Tom Cruise & Simon Pegg were there for Mission Impossible). About 400m to Cafe Sacher (to savour the famous original Sachertorte) and round the corner to Cafe Museum. You can take Tram no. 1 all around the inner city to Schwedenplatz and then change to Tram No. 2 for the other half of the ring to get back to where you started. 2. Room : For the price of a small room at the main hotel chains, this place beats them all in terms of room size, comfort, service and location hands down! Stayed 3 nights and got the Superior Double Apartment - worth every penny! Very spacious with lots of room to lounge around in. Rooms faced an inner courtyard so was very quiet! Importantly, room was clean and bed was comfortable. 3. Breakfast : Great spread and good service. although the spread is the same every day, we never tire of it as the bacon is very nicely done. Very nice breakfast room with ambience. 4. Others : Wifi is pretty good and no problems with Netflix streaming. TV has only a few English channels (CNBC, Bloomberg). One important fact : Bottled water is free and you can load up your day's supply from the lobby fridge (but its in glass bottles). Free Nespresso from the lobby coffee machine with afternoon croissants. Perfect for a break between sightseeing! 5. Cons : The sofa is old and peeling in places. WC area is rather tight and a bigger person might have some problems with this room layout. The curtains for one of the windows actually dropped off but was quickly fixed the very next day and posed no bother to us, There is a lift - but its one of the most interesting and smallest lift I have seen. Perfect for a couple but that's it! I noticed that they tried to preserve the original architecture by squeezing in the lift at the centre of the spiral staircase. Although it took us 2 trips to get all our bags up, at least we didn't have to climb the stairs all the way to the 6th floor! So be grateful! :) Overall verdict? Highly recommended for a stay in Vienna - the location is unbeatable, the rooms are spacious, wifi is good, and the service friendly, helpful and professional! (Peter was very helpful and friendly to us) If I come back to Vienna, I will certainly be staying here again!
