The rooms look modern in pictures but the beds are squeaky and hard, the TVs had no proper reception and the elevator area was dingy. Lights are operated by touch panel and when one suddenly sprang on at 2am and couldn't be shut down staff had no other option but to relocate us to a second room. Here, lights flickered and the same type of bed was just as squeaky and hard. I highly recommend looking for similarly-priced hotels in the Huaihai Road or Jing'An Temple area. There is no upside to staying here.

I arrived to find that, as an avid swimmer, my much hoped-for pool was non-existent. The hotel has been converted in recent years to apartments. Now there are, I think they said, 50 rooms. After my serious red-eye from SFO and Dallas, I was looking forward to the "heavenly to sleep on king-size bed". Probably great post-back surgery but waaay too firm, like stiff foam on plywood. The woodwork was nice in the day but is getting a little long of tooth and chipped. No wi-fi but at least (as many do here) there was an ethernet cable by the attractive glass and wood work desk. The shower was welcome and wonderful. The floor grout looked like nobody had cleaned it in years. I moved to the Howard Johnson, about a ten minute walk from here.

Not the best place I have stayed in and have stayed in worse, staff not very friendly, average rooms, a 20 minute walk to the Bund with restaurants all around, in a very local area with lots of construction happening everywhere, great to walk the local streets and watch the locals.
Stayed for 2 nights before traveling to Beijing and X'ian then3 nights on the way back home.

Stunning apartment style room on 8th floor,luxurious fittings ,separate dressing and makeup room and the most amazing bathroom with all amenities. The bed was double kingsize and heavenly to sleep on The views of the river ,city lights etc were breathtaking with light shows every night The only fault was the exorbitant prices charged for food and beverages,a cappuccino ,costing Au $15.00 !!! The free international calls for the 1 st day. Was a bonus Staff were exemplaray. Will definitely stay at this hotel again

Our room was very large and had a view across the harbor. The beautiful new and amazing buildings across the harbor were so great. They had a light show in the building every night. Service was outstanding. This hotel is very new and is the lasted hotel built in the Peninsula chain.It had free international calling. Everything in the room was controlled by an ipad like computer. One on each side of the bed. Bathroom even had mood lighting and a tv. Would love to stay there again.
